Our Story

God Forbid & Co. creates “Born Again” Art jackets and handbags. Each piece is one of a kind or limited edition featuring handwork details including painting and hand set rhinestones or studs. Quilted fabric patchwork details are collaged with painting, embellishments and trims to make each piece unique.

Artist Debbie Meyer Hastey is a former fashion designer who worked in the leather jacket industry  in Los Angeles designing for celebrity clients. She also spent nearly 10 years as a lead designer for Barbie at Mattel. Her work is inspired by Religion, Rock and Roll, Romance, and Pop Culture. She loves Fun and Whimsy as well, and often features cute animals or humor in her designs. Debbie moved to Pensacola from Memphis, where her work was featured in several stores including shops on Beale Street. Although semi retired, she hopes to share her hobby with others who enjoy expressing themselves with creative clothing and accessories.
